New Group Leader for Liberal Democrats

Hazel Watson has been chosen as the new leader of the Liberal Democrats on Surrey County Council. Previously Hazel was deputy leader. Janet Maines, the previous Group Leader becomes deputy leader. At the same time, Dr. John Hobrough has been appointed as Group Chairman.

Janet Maines decided to stand down as Group Leader in order to give more time to her role as Mayoress of Waverley 2004-2005. She said "I would like to congratulate Hazel Watson on her election as Leader, and I hope to continue contributing to the group as Deputy Leader".
